How do women over 50 step into their spotlight, show off their signature style, and have a whole lot of fun doing it? More than 150 women gathered to find out at a lively fashion show and luncheon hosted by the Nevada County Women’s Social Club (formerly Newcomers of Nevada County) at Lake of the Pines Country Club on April 22.
NCWSC members themselves took to the runway as the day’s delightful models, showcasing fresh spring looks from Whim, Yuba Blue, J. Breuer, and JCPenney. The result? An afternoon filled with great food, fashion, friendship—and plenty of confident strutting.
Beyond the fun, the club works hard at their deeper purpose. NCWSC is a proud supporter of Helping Hands Nurturing Center. As President Debe Wilson shares, “We spend much of the year raising funds and awareness for Helping Hands, and the Spring Fashion Luncheon is truly a point of joy and connection for our members. It also supports these wonderful local boutiques who were so generous with their time and beautiful clothes. We love encouraging our members to shop locally, because it makes a meaningful difference to our community and economy.”
